  1. Such an important post. And true. What I would give to have my parent still with me. But yes, we need to do better with our elders as Americans. They deserve it and WE need them, even if we don’t realize it! Loneliness should NOT be a cause of an early death… GREAT post. Thanks for sharing this.

What a great post. I adore the elderly. I believe that is probably rare. I was a Nurse Assistant, in home care and nobody ever stopped by to see my clients. A very lonely period of life, indeed.

  3. I worry that my difficulty making friends will hurt me physically as it has always hurt me emotionally. I have a cat. I am thinking of upping my well being with a dog. I have never had a dog, so I am nervous. The expense is prohibitive too. But I fear the alternative…Caroleena, the Expert Escort

Such an important thing to keep up on in life. The last thing I ever want for my grandparents is to feel lonely. I refuse to move away until they pass and will gladly have them live with me when the time comes. It breaks my heart to think about all the elderly who don’t have grandchildren who feel the same way.

Wow this is great, I feel challenged. Thank you for this. We have neglected the importance of socialization, forgotten how to think about other people beside ourselves thinking its for our good but in reality its detrimental to us.

  6. Thank you for being such an inspiration to me and others around you.
